Hello All!

We are back from the Quilt Expo in Des Moines, Iowa, and are glad to report that we had a FANTASTIC time!  It was SO nice to meet some of you in person! :)

We are finally caught up with all of the orders that came in while we were gone.  If you sent us an email and haven't heard back, PLEASE send it again.  Sometimes things get caught up in our spam filter and sometimes emails don't get to us at all.  We try really hard to respond to all emails within 24 hours (although sometimes, like when we were gone to the show and for a few days afterwards, it takes us a little longer to respond while we play catch-up).

And here we are...the Treasured Threads Gorgeous Girls!!  Thanks so much to my lovely assistants who helped SO much in getting ready for and working at the show...Barb on the left (my premier Chatty-Kathy who walked the floor and handed out flyers like she owned the place!), Pat in the middle (my resident cash register and accountant mistress who not only kept our books straight but was a great example of customer service as well!) and then there's me, Shannon...on the right. :)  And who knows how my assistants would describe me!! LOL

I'd also like to send out a H-U-G-E THANK YOU to all of you who made samples for us for the show.  We couldn't have done it without you!!!  As you can see from the pics, we had ALOT of stuff for our little 10' x 10' booth.  We'll definitely be getting a larger booth size for the next show which will be the International Quilt Festival in Chicago in April of 2009.  And to those of you who made samples but either didn't get them back in time or we couldn't get them finished in time...NO WORRIES!! :)  There'll be plenty more shows and ample opportunity to show off your gorgeous handiwork! :)

Our other BIG news of the week is now that the show is over, we will be concentrating full-time on getting the new website up and running.  Our new site will feature fully-integrated point-and-click e-commerce so you can add items to your cart, check out and pay all at once.  While I LOVE chatting with you all, this will streamline the order process for all of us!!  Until then, you will need to continue sending us an email (treasured threads @ gmail.com <remove spaces>) with your order with which we'll respond with a total including shipping.  You can then choose your method of payment:  we can send you an invoice through PayPal (no need for an account and you have various options for payment), you may call us with your credit card information or you can send us a personal check.  We're hoping the new site will be completed and up and running by the first of the year. :)  This blog site will then become a gathering place for comments and questions about current projects and a place for announcements of new items!

Final Preparations

As we make our final preparations for the American Quilter's Society Quilt Expo in Des Moines, Iowa, next week, we will stop taking online orders TOMORROW, Thursday, October 2nd at midnight so that we have time to pack and ship before we leave next week. 

We will begin set-up at the Wells Fargo Arena HyVee Hall on Monday, October 6th, make final preparations on Tuesday, October 7th and will be ready to see all of you on opening day, Wednesday, October 8th or any day following through Saturday, October 11th.  We'll be in Booth 336 and look forward to meeting each and every one of you!  As we will have all of our stock with us and the studio will be practically empty (!), there will be no shipping from Monday, October 6th through Monday, October 13th.  You are welcome to send us email orders but please understand that email correspondence will be sporadic. :)

Many New Patterns Have Arrived!

This month, we'd like to introduce you to a new designer to us, Lynne Wilson from Bowral, Australia!  She has a wonderful assortment of patterns and we are pleased to be able to offer her designs to you!

Lynne's Hexagon Magic was brought to our attention by a customer of ours (Thanks, Patsy!).  This makes up into a GORGEOUS quilt and is easy, too!  (Love those ones that look difficult but are really easy! LOL)

The first picture is one that Patsy sent me from when Lynne visited Kathrine's Quilt Store in Norway where she gave a presentation and taught a couple of classes.  The next one is the pattern. :)

Unfortunately, the pattern cover doesn't do this one justice! :)  The hexagons are built using a half-hexagon system and the template is included with the pattern.  $20 plus shipping

The next pattern we've aquired from Lynne is called Allspice and uses two jelly rolls for the blocks and sashing plus your border, backing and binding fabrics.

We've also received in her Pleated Log Cabin pattern.  This is a great pattern that can be used with Moda Charm Packs and Jelly Rolls, too.

Another very pretty pattern from Lynne is called Noughts & Crosses.  Once again, consisting of jelly rolls, this quilt is a great one to help you use up those odds and ends strips from your stash!

We just received notification from our distributor that BOTH Vol 9 No 7 (The Christmas Issue) and Vol 9 No 8 (The Gardening Issue) are on the way!  We have *almost* pre-sold out of these issues and have only a few left so if you're interested, get your name in NOW.  We are expecting them to arrive on our doorstep within the next week.

Great News!

We are so excited to announce that Treasured Threads has been accepted into the American Quilter's Society Quilt Expo to be held in Des Moines, Iowa, on October 8 - 11, 2008!!  You can find more info about the show here.  This is very exciting news as all vendors are juried in based on their product line!

Would you like a chance to earn free product?  Here's where you can help!  Since we are an online store only, we need samples to help fill out our booth!!  There are *so* many we'd like to make but there's only so much stitching and sewing we can do while getting ready for the show!  Sorry, this offer is for current Treasured Threads customers only.

If you decide that you'd like to make us a few samples, we can offer you all of the materials and the pattern for free.  You would only need to sew the item together and then return it to us.  If it is a bigger project that needs quilted, we have a long-arm quilter on staff to complete that process.  The sample will travel for as long as that pattern is a 'good seller' (we're estimating the life to be a year or so) and then you would get the finished product back to keep.  So basically, as payment, you will get a free item with a free pattern to make as many more as you'd like...you'll just have to wait a bit to get the original item back into your possession.
 
The samples MUST be done and sent back to us NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 24th, 2008.
 
If you're interested in working with us, please let us know no later than Friday, August 22nd.  We will send you a listing of the projects that we'd like to have made up and have materials ready for immediate shipment.  We will reimburse postage upon the return of the completed items.  If you already own one of the patterns but would still like to make a few samples, we're happy to offer you a pattern credit of equal or same value for any other patterns we currently carry.

Super, Super Saturday!!

Hello to All of You!  Thank you so much for the kind emails about missing me...I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth (although sometimes it feels like I have!).  With all of this wonderful technology that we have at our fingertips, my luck hasn't been the best for the past month!  I have completed the SAME post on here on three different occasions...and on three different occasions, it has gone *POOF* into thin air once I hit the Publish button. :(  To say my level of frustration is high is to put it mildly. :) LOL

Nice People Nice Things Block-of-the-Week is Here!

I know that some of you have been patiently waiting for us to get in Helen Stubbings at Hugs-n-Kisses NEW Block-of-the-Week called Nice People Nice Things.  WELL, YOUR WAIT IS OVER!!! :)  It is here now and ready to be sent out all over the world. 

There are some bloggers out there who are doing it as a group...if you don't belong to one, why not start your own?  It's a great stitchery project with 104 different stitcheries and some simple applique.  The entire pattern takes 3 1/4 yards of background fabric and 40 coordinated fat quarters to make the beautiful 63" x 81" quilt-as-you-go quilt. 

You can even check in with the designer herself on a blog specifically devoted to this quilt.  Join Helen here and meet up with other quilters all over the world who are also talking about the nice people and nice things in their own lives!

The entire set of patterns sells for $60.  If you'd like to purchase a transfer pack so that you don't need to trace the stitcheries yourself, the transfer pack for the entire quilt is $28.  Shipping for either one or both is $4.80.

We are also offering this pattern as a 9 month BOM.  Each month you will receive approximately 6 stitchery cards with a total of 12 stitcheries (6 stitchery designs and 6 feelgood sayings) and the transfers that match.  The cost to join is just $10 and each monthly installment is $12 ppd in the US.

We're Back From Market with LOTS of New Things!

WOW!  What a trip! :)  We're back from Market (and still exhausted! LOL).  We shipped over 125# of new products back home and they started arriving today.

We 'hobnobbed' with the best of them...Helen Stubbings of Hugs-n-Kisses, Tracey Browning of Wysistas, Lynette & Vince O'Rourke of Lynette Anderson Designs, Anni & Peter Downs of Hatched and Patched and many, many others.  "Celebrity sightings" included Mark Lipinski, Pat Sloan, Debbie Mumm, Tammy Tadd, PamKittyMorning, Gina Halladay, Amy Butler, Jeanne Perrine (awesome bags!!), Meg Hawkey, and many, many more!

We picked up new items from Helen Stubbings of Hugs-n-Kisses, Tracey Browning and Helen of Wysistas, Anni Downs of Hatched and Patched and Lynette Anderson O'Rourke of Lynette Anderson Designs.

To Market, To Market...Jiggity Jig

Well, we're off to International Quilt Market in Portland, Oregon tomorrow.  We'll be checking out all of the new goodies from Australian designers as well as those here in the US.

We will be checking and responding to email while gone but will NOT be shipping again until Wednesday, May 23rd.

We'll be bringing home new products by Anni Downs of Hatched-n-Patched, Helen Stubbings of Hugs-n-Kisses, Lynette Anderson O'Rourke of Lynette Anderson Designs and some really neat CDs from Wysistas...and who knows what other surprises we have in store!!
